The offseason is not over with yet, but majority of FA is done and the draft is complete. The Bunnies can still make some moves before the preseason arrives.
The Bunnies FA signings:
Shaun Stephens - MLB
Stephens came to a dismal LB corp to try and fill the shoes of the Hall of Famer Boomer Sooner. Stephens brings the same OVR of Boomer, but now can he bring the winning attitude and production as Boomer? The Bunnies are thrilled to welcome Shaun to the PINK SIDE.
Kent Smith - TE
Kent comes back home to Roseville after reaching the end of his past contract with the team. Kent will be moving from FB to TE for the Bunnies offense. Naturally there will be a dropoff in production from the TE position as Richard Lafferty set records and then broke them, he is now playing WR. Kent knows the ways of the PINK SIDE and is happy to return to his roots.
Rufus Rewfoos - OLB
Rufus comes to the Bunnies to fill the missing veteran LB position. With the recent news of Rufus' real life situation, the Bunnies send him their prayers and wishes to him and his family. Rufus has the speed and experience to produce solid numbers for the rather young Bunnies Defense. Rufus will be joining the PINKSHIRTS on the field very soon on his return.
Richard Smeltzer - WR
Richard will be lining up next to Richard this season to create one of the top two WR pairs in the league this season. This signing was possibly needed as it may have been hard for the Bunnies to send a rookie straight into a starting role. Also, the Bunnies felt they were already young at RB and FB, so they looked for some veteran leadership and performance at a receiver position. This is obviously a one year fix for the Bunnies as Smeltzer has already claimed this is his last season as a WR in the league and will be retiring following S6. This is Smeltzer's 3rd team and he will be going out in PINK STYLE
Brandon Pitzer - QB
The Bunnies missed out on the Pitzer signing frenzy the first time as Brandon signed with the Rolling Thunder on draft day. After a few disgruntled RT players, the RT looked to deal one of their QBs and the Bunnies were there to take the highly talented player to add to their passing offense of Richard2. This move made the Bunnies' second round pick of King Abudllah be able to redshirt for a season as he had previously requested before the draft. Brandon will be leading the Bunnies high-flying PINK OFFENSE.
Harris Ahmadzai - CB
Ahmadzai is a young promising player as he was redshirted last season for the Firebirds and benefited from their 5M in WR TT and 1M in PT. By being a redshirted rookie, this player now has extra motivation and drive to make his name known in this league as a top DB. He will be starting the season at CB3 with the possibility to move into one of the starting safety positions. This is an unproven member in the league so far so look for Ahmadzai to be playing this season with a chip on his shoulder in order to prove he's a quality member and a great prospect player. The Bunnies are impressed by this young player and more than happy to add him to their great rookie bunch of players that will be growing together adding stability to a rebuilding team. Ahmadzai, with a little bit of dedication and hard work, you will be wearing a PINKSHIRT in no time.
Eric Eggleston - MLB
Eggleston is a member that seems to show up everywhere and in every league. Will he be settling down here at FSJ to prove to these vet members that he does have the desire to be a great player in a great league with a high level of competition? Eggleston comes to the Bunnies as a redshirted rookie from the Playboys via FA. Eggleston has benefited from his redshirt year as he has already had 5M in LB TT and 3M in PT from his former team. This is another young rookie that the Bunnies add to their team to build the future of the team around along with fellow rookie FA Ahmadzai and rookie draft picks. With a little more speed this young player can find his way into a starting LB role in no time. Eggleston is the eigth rookie to be added to this Bunnies team, probably not the last either, and all are signed for three years each so expect these Bunny rookies to grow together and make the best team in the league. The same advice for Ahmadzai goes out to Eggleston too, with a little bit of dedication and hard work, you will be wearing a PINKSHIRT in no time.
