POG = Player of the Game
DP = Disappointing Performance
Playboys 22
Cougars 24
POG: MLB Avery Day (Car)
DP: HB Tyler Barabash (SJ)
Notes:The Cougars officially have a win streak on their hands. As with any Playboys' game, they needed to win the turnover battle to win the game. Avery Day lead the way as the Playboy run game was held to just 2.6 YPC. Throw in a 37.2 passer rating (30% completion percentage) from Parker, and you've got yourself a loss. The Cougars hope to bring their momentum into week 5 against the pre-season favorites... the San Diego Stars. We'll get to see if this team is a contender or pretender...
Stars 21
Bunnies 9
POG: QB Bam Risso (SD)
DP: QB Brandon Pitzer (Ros)
Notes: Risso followed up his forgettable performance in week 3 with a 3 TD game and an eclipse of the 300 yd mark. 142 of those yards came off two passes, but the Bunnies were unable to stop the long passes all game. Cross managed a mere 3.3 YPC and one lost fumbled, but the passing game was able to pull through. DJ Johnson and Aaron Wilson teamed up for more than 200 yards of offense to improve their stock. The Stars are looking forward to next week's game, where they will be favored over the Cougars.
Firebirds 30
R. Thunder 20
POG: HB Thomas Appleby (Phi)
DP: WR Big Sexxxy (Phi)
Notes: Overall, this was a pretty good game. Appleby spent most of the day picking up large gains (7.7 YPC) to carry the Firebirds. Night continued the QB trend this week and put up some sub par numbers. Because of this, we saw the worst showing from Big Sexxxy all year. I don't recall the last time Sexxxy was held to just 13 yards.. if ever. Kudos to the RT's defense for shutting him down, but you wont win ball games giving up that much yardage on the ground. The Firebirds are definitely on a roll!
