Well, it looks like it's settled. SEC had 9 teams going to a bowl game, and the PAC-10 had 6.
SEC 7-2 record
Best bowl: Auburn vs Clemson Fluke bowl: Michigan vs Florida
PAC-10 4-2 record
Best bowl: BYU vs UCLA (yeah, they lost.. but a blocked FG to win?!) Fluke bowl: BYU vs UCLA
SEC reigns supreme for another year. I'd like to give a nice and loud "I told you so" to all those who preached about how good Arizona St. was. They got beat by a very young and questionable Texas team on national TV.

LOL... the SEC had 9 bowl games compared to 6 for Pac-10... so?
1) There's 12 teams in the SEC... guess how many are in the Pac-10? 2) Bowl games are generally awarded by ranking... and rankings are influenced by that ludicrous perception that the SEC is better.
The comparison was between Arizona State and Georgia. Who did Georgia play? A WAC team that had to fly 9 hours and froze their asses off in Louisiana, of all places, that's who.
But congratulations to the SEC for winning another paper championship.

You have to be 6-6 to be bowl eligable. 2) I'm sure Hawaii flew out at least a week in advance for that game. Jet lag is not an excuse. The truth is Georgia's defensive line manhandled Hawaii's week O-line and sacked Brennan 8 times. 3) The discussion was about Arizona St. as well as the UGA vs Hawaii game.

lol @ the Florida loss being a fluke Henne is a good QB and Hart is a good RB... Both healthy=dangerous.. Throw in the fact that both are seniors and both are motivated not only by that but also their HC for 4 years basically getting fired Florida's youth on defense, especially in the secondary is what cost them the game. It was a very good game, and i dont think it was a fluke, i think it would be better saying it could've ended up either way.

The SEC only lost 2 bowls games.. who would you want me to put in the 'fluke bowl' category? Arkansas vs Missouri? Not saying Michigan will never beat a solid Florida team again, but that game is more flukish than Mizzou whipping up on a beat up Arkansas team.

1) Bowl games are determined by record. You have to be 6-6 to be bowl eligable. Then maybe all the Pac-10 teams should emulate the mighty Kentucky, who finished 3-5 in conference play but made the postseason with these out-of-conference gems: Eastern Kentucky Kent St. Florida Atlantic Louisville The fact that they're a WAC team doesn't factor? The fact they were freezing their asses off doesn't factor? The Sugar Bowl is an outdoor stadium, and we had a cold front. Not any conversation I was involved in.

So, you're saying that Hawaii should only be invited to warm bowl games? or relocate the bowl sites to suit one team's need? Not likely.. Hawaii did it for the money. They got about $4M, which is about twice their athletic dept.'s budget. They did it for the cash... which is the same reason why June Jones was on a jet the next day to SMU.

I'm just saying... what did Georgia prove by beating them? The same thing they proved all season... nothing.

Anyone up for the suggestion of the Big XII being the best conference? They have as much of a claim as anyone.
