First, and foremost, I would just like you all to know that I am going to be a Playboy for the next 2 years, barring BlackOps and Bash trading me after my recent outburst. In the near future, I will make a public apology to the team, but for right now, I am going to do Off-Season Analysis for them:
Key Addition:
WR Richard Smeltzer - Smeltzer has 1 year of eligibility left, and after we lost Tambo, we needed a WR threat with Rice. Smeltzer may just be that guy for this year.
Other Additions:
SS Chief Smackaho
WR Mike Albright
Key Loss:
CB Jesse James and WR Tambo Madison - It's tough to say which loss was more impactive, so I put both as key losses. We wanted to keep him, but James had other ideas. He wanted to win a championship in his final year, and just felt like we couldn't get it done in our rebuilding mode.
As for Tambo, the good news is that he has not signed with anybody yet. The bad news is he has not been on since February 13th. If we don't get Tambo back, that would be a huge loss, b/c, with losing James and gaining Smeltzer, we could've put him back at CB.
Other Losses:
BlackOps and Bash, just let me know, b/c I really don't remember who else we lost.
The Skinny
After CaptO and Tambo went inactive, and watchthis left, this team is now in rebuilding mode. QB Toby Parker had the least amount of yards out of any non-rookie QB last year, and you can't blame the WRs. Rather, the tight ends were to blame. They put a 5'10 player at TE in Keith Finnegan, who, by the way, will play fullback this year, and must prove he's dedicated to the team in order to move back to the defensive side of the ball. HB Tyler Barabash returns to the backfield after spending the last 4 games as the TE. "Mr. Pasta Bowl" WR Charlie Rice is now the man in charge at WR with Tambo gone, but they brought Smeltzer in just for good measure. With Finnegan at FB, TE Brett Witten is now the starter, and should be a better tight end than the short Finnegan.
Defensively, the Playboys should be better. MLB Javon Biggz came up big last year after being signed, and should look to do the same. Woody Avalon, who moved to OLB early in the season, looks to help this team in its rebuilding mode in his final season of eligibility. Opposite him is Sucka Cock. Cock had a team high 4 sacks, and looks to do more of the same. However, we might have problems in the secondary, as it features 2 unproven rookies, an aged veteran, and a still young veteran. The 2 unproven rookies, Will Spreen, who spent last year as a redshirt on this team, and Chief Smackaho are at the safety positions. The 2 corners, Liam McNasty, who is inactive and in the last year of eligibility, and Brad Joiseyguy, the polish punisher, should look to stop the pass. Joiseyguy sure had the speed to play CB, and hopefully, he will do well.
Projected Record: 7-5, 2nd Place in the division.
I still don't think the lack of FA productivity will hurt us. It hurt us a little bit last year, but not much. We will still make the playoffs, but the Pasta Bowl doesn't look like it's in reach with the Firebirds better than ever.
