I think that we need this league to die for a while and then come back. We had a good run, but sim leagues just don't last forever.

Well right now I'm pretty much done. I've been here for a long time and I'm just burnt out and tired. If it comes back with something new and interesting then I would give it another shot, but it's just not doing it for me anymore. I'm not giving up, just saying I don't have the time but may be back later.

It's Catch 22. Nobody wants to risk starting an untested rookie or putting a lot of hope into a new member until they show they can remain somewhat active. On the flip side, no rookie wants to sit on the bench or not be a part of the action and just sit on the sidelines building a player attempting to prove their self. We're like the fucking Yankees... invest nothing in the farm, just keep banking on these over the hill veterans-- then when these veterans start to leave there's nobody to pass the torch on to. So-- how do we fix the problem? Either we do something to weed out inactives each season (which would create more open spots, and more incentive to play a newer guy), or we make something to keep the bench rookies active (there was the practice squad, which I thought was a good idea), but then that brings up the issue of simmers needed. I recommend either a) implementing rules that BURNNN inactives, or b) implementing something for redshirts that gives them game action. One requires the Rules Committee, the other requires getting simmers back (who has simmed games over the years?...dorow, test, blackops, simms CAN, etc). All roads lead to a BIG RECRUITMENT OF NEW MEMBERS!!!! LIKE 100!!! As I've said before-- Google doesn't take 5 applications for 5 open positions. They take 10,000 applications for 5 positions, then the cream rises to the top. More options = more eventual quality and activity. The odds of 5 of 5 players being active is low, the odds of 5 of 10,000 players being active is high! Are you trying to sell me a vacuum cleaner? If so.. I'll take 10!!

I am a active Cougar. I think this League is not near death. I like the idea about having a way to get inactives off roster each year and get new players playing time.

The problem is obvious to me: Money isn't important so good players can flock to one team without losing anything. Make money somehow important and you have league parity which brings excitement and interest for longer periods of time. The league's high points were seasons 2-5 with the Bunnies, Pythons, Rastas, etc. all competing at a high level.
My suggestions for the league: Keep a lot of the rules and stuff, just start everything else from scratch.

To solve people not all flocking to one team, I would advise better GMs rather than a bunch of new pesky money rules.
